CHSLD Val-des-Brises, Long-Term Care Nursing Home in Duvernay, Laval
CHSLD Val-des-Brises is a public long-term care nursing home run by the CISSS de Laval in the Duvernay neighbourhood. Opened in May 2022, it welcomes seniors with loss of autonomy who need several hours of care each day. Most residents have moderate to severe neurocognitive disorders. The home can house 232 residents, organized into small living units of 11 people. Each resident has a private room with a private bathroom.
CHSLD Val-des-Brises was designed to offer a warm living environment that feels like a family home. The care team includes nurses, nursing assistants, beneficiary attendants, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist and a nutritionist. Doctors visit on site. Residents receive help with hygiene, dressing and mobility, as well as medication management. Three meals and snacks are served daily, and an adapted activity program is offered. Services are offered in French.
The CHSLD enjoys a convenient location in eastern Laval. Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital, the main hospital of the CISSS de Laval, is nearby. Close by, Laval’s Centre de la nature offers trails, gardens and green spaces enjoyed by visiting families.
