Résidence Le Foyer de Gaspé is a warm, private retirement home located in the heart of Gaspé, in Quebec’s Gaspésie region. It offers a living environment well suited to seniors with different levels of autonomy. Our human-scale residence welcomes 51 residents and includes 22 units in a private seniors’ residence (RPA) and 29 spaces in an intermediate resource (RI). The residence serves a diverse clientele: independent and semi-independent seniors, people recovering from illness or surgery, and those living with cognitive decline such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Le Foyer de Gaspé offers a full range of services designed to simplify daily life and look after each resident’s health. Residents benefit from support services that include up to three delicious meals a day plus snacks, full housekeeping and laundry service. Our team also provides personalized assistance with eating, personal hygiene and mobility, as well as medication management and administration. All of this is overseen by qualified staff on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for optimal safety. As needs change, more specialized care and short- or long-term assistance can also be provided.
Our retirement home in Gaspé offers a safe, friendly and lively environment every day. We offer a wide variety of recreational and social activities, such as bingo, board games and gentle exercise. Residents have access to welcoming common areas, including a bright dining room, a cozy lounge, an outdoor terrace and a multipurpose room. Additional amenities, such as a hair salon and coordinated medical visits, are available on site. Le Foyer de Gaspé also stands out for its stunning view of Gaspé Bay, which offers a peaceful, restorative and unique place to live. The building is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility, with an elevator and adapted facilities. Parking is free, and services are offered in both English and French.

Meals and Dining
A balanced menu based on the Canadian Food Guide is served daily in the dining room. Menus are planned on a five-week cycle. Breakfast is at the residents’ discretion. Lunches and dinners include three courses (soup, main course, and dessert). Allergies are taken seriously, and an alternative menu is always available in case of allergies or simply if the resident does not prefer the main menu. Our kitchen is certified according to MAPAQ standards.

Activities are available from Monday to Wednesday in collaboration with the Gaspé Association for Persons with Disabilities. The residence is also proud to host young aspiring humanitarian clowns, who bring smiles and joy to our residents. And on Saturdays, our young recreation coordinator brightens the day with fun and engaging activities for everyone to enjoy.

Mon père a résidé dans cet établissement pendant 6 mois. Il y a reçu de bons soins et de bons services tout au long de son séjour. La direction est accueillante et accessible, et le personnel est disponible en tout temps. Ce qu’il déplorait, c’était le manque d’espace pour se rassembler et jaser. La chapelle pouvait être utilisée pour se réunir, mais il en trouvait l’ambiance froide. Les loisirs réservés aux résidents restent également à développer, mais je sais que des efforts sont faits en ce sens.
