Résidence des Bâtisseurs – St-Alexis is a certified private seniors’ residence (RPA) in the La Baie borough of Saguenay. It is part of the Résidences des Bâtisseurs network and was formerly known as Villa St-Alexis. The complex has 202 units, including 175 RPA rental units: studios (1 ½), one-bedroom (3 ½) and two-bedroom (4 ½) apartments, all with a balcony and private bathroom. The modern concrete building offers superior soundproofing. Services are offered in English and French.

Independent seniors enjoy a stimulating living environment. Seniors with loss of autonomy can rely on the Pavillon St-Alexis, a personalized care wing that includes a prosthetic unit for people living with Alzheimer’s disease or cognitive disorders. Beneficiary attendants are on site 24/7, and a nursing assistant is present seven days a week. The residence also offers medication distribution, help with bathing and hygiene, and chef-prepared meals. Residents have access to a fitness room, billiard room, library, home theatre, chapel and hair salon, along with an activity program that includes bingo, social dancing, gentle exercise and a walking club.

The residence enjoys a convenient location in La Baie, in the heart of Saguenay. La Baie Hospital, part of the CIUSSS du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, is in the same borough, and the residence provides accompaniment to hospital and pharmacy appointments. The Rivière à Mars, known for its trails and salmon fishing, flows into the nearby Baie des Ha! Ha!. It offers a natural setting for walks. A backyard with swings also lets residents enjoy the outdoors without leaving the residence.
