CHSLD de Lachine

CHSLD de Lachine is a public residential and long-term care centre located at 650 Place d’Accueil in the Lachine borough of Montreal. Run by the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, it has 187 places for non-autonomous seniors who need several hours of care each day. It also welcomes people living with a physical or intellectual disability. It should not be confused with CHSLD Camille-Lefebvre, which is attached to the MUHC’s Lachine Hospital.

Residents receive comprehensive care, including medication distribution and administration, help with hygiene, dressing and mobility, and on-site visits from doctors and specialists. The team includes nurses, nursing assistants, care attendants, a dietitian and an occupational therapist. Three meals a day, snacks, housekeeping, laundry and an adapted activities program round out the services. Residents can also enjoy a lounge, a quiet contemplation space and a backyard.

CHSLD de Lachine is close to Lachine Hospital and its emergency department, which makes it easier to access hospital care when needed. The Saul-Bellow Library, a public library in the neighbourhood, is also nearby. It offers a pleasant outing for residents and their families.
