With a capacity of 14 people, Beit Chai private seniors’ residence in Montreal offers a warm, family-friendly environment. Mostly English-speaking and exclusively reserved for women, it is managed by a couple who has lived there since it opened over 20 years ago.
Its director is at the heart of the daily life of the residence and is also the chef in the kitchen. The residents live in an atmosphere of sharing and exchange, in a space tailored to the needs and conditions of each one.
Safe and Friendly Environment
The Beit Chai seniors’ residence is an accredited residence that has cultivated a living environment where seniors can recreate a space similar to home. The daily routine is based on the residents’ needs, and the activities are adapted to their specific conditions.
According to each person’s changing needs, the team adapts their care to ensure their comfort and safety. This seniors’ care home in Montreal has an elevator and is fully suited to accommodate people with reduced mobility or those in wheelchairs.
In addition to the common areas, two gardens are also available to residents with swings to enjoy the sunshine!
Spacious and Bright Rooms
Residents are accommodated in fully equipped private and semi-private rooms equipped with an electric bed. Adapted to facilitate seniors’ mobility and safety, each room is comfortable and bright.
Upon arrival, seniors have the option of bringing their own furniture or using the furniture provided. This family-style residence has everything you need to personalize the room and create a soft and comfortable living space, just like at home.
The Team and Resident Care
The team is also part of the Beit Chai family! Some members have been working there for almost 20 years.
The residents are supported on a daily basis by the staff, who are available 24 hours a day and trained to accompany semi-autonomous people. A physician also makes regular visits to the facility.
Depending on the level of care required, the Beit Chai team works in collaboration with the local CLSC teams. A variety of professionals are available to provide the necessary care and ensure the comfort of the residents.
In addition, various services are provided by the residence to facilitate daily life, including medication management, clothing and bedding maintenance, and housekeeping.
A Daily Routine Filled with Activities
Three meals per day are included in the rent and feature varied and balanced menus, carefully prepared by the director. The meals can also be tailored to the diets and medical conditions of the residents.
The team welcomes seniors in English and in Yiddish. Beit Chai is a Jewish seniors’ residence in Montreal, although all faiths are welcome! Major religious holidays are celebrated every year.
In addition, the team is quick to celebrate other occasions throughout the year. Whether it’s a birthday, the arrival of a new resident, or a spontaneous party, there are many reasons to celebrate together.
