Habitation Louise-Beauchamp: Seniors Residence in Laval
Habitation Louise-Beauchamp is a non-profit private seniors’ residence (RPA) located at 3300 Rue des Châteaux in the Chomedey neighbourhood of Laval. Managed by the Office municipal d’habitation de Laval (OMH de Laval), it was built under the AccèsLogis Québec program with support from the Société d’habitation du Québec and the Ville de Laval. It has 86 recently built 3 ½ and 4 ½ apartments. The residence welcomes independent retirees over 75, as well as people aged 65 to 75 with mobility issues.
Next door to Habitations des Châteaux, a separate rental building, Habitation Louise-Beauchamp is steps away from the shops and services of Chomedey. The Centre de services ambulatoires de Laval, also known as the Laval outpatient centre, is nearby on Chomedey Boulevard. It offers a geriatrics centre, a blood collection centre, a diabetes clinic and cardiology services, among others. Residents therefore have convenient access to many specialized health services.
Residents enjoy one meal a day, 24/7 security, air conditioning and free laundry facilities. They can socialize and relax on the terrace, in the garden or in the glass-roofed lounge. Leisure is central to this non-profit: physical and cognitive activities help residents stay independent, and a recreation committee organizes a library, bingo, petanque and other activities. Pets are welcome.
