It is confirmed, there will be an addition of $ 68 million to the initial $ 70 million grant to install sprinklers in seniors' residences. The RQRA was accompanying Minister of Health Gaétan Barrette and Francine Charbonneau, Minister responsible for Seniors and the Fight Against Bullying, in announcing major changes to the subsidy program for the installation of sprinklers in Canada, in existing private residences for seniors ( RPA ), established in December 2015.
This additional help will cover a much higher percentage than the original suggestion for all types of residences depending on the number of units and access to the program will be simplified to speed up the process. Find a residence now, by searching on our Bonjour Résidences platform .
The cost of the installation refunded :
- 30 units or less will see their projects funded 100%
- RPPs from 31 to 99 units, at 80%
- 100 or more units to 60%.
"These changes will benefit a large number of seniors' residences, for whom the installation of sprinklers poses a major financial and logistical challenge, even decisive for the continuation of their activities. We can only be happy about this huge step forward, "said Yves Desjardins, President and CEO of RQRA.
Congratulations for this advancement and good renovation!
