The Manoir St-Amand is a private residence for seniors (RPA) as well as an intermediate resource (RI). This residence is located in the Limoilou neighborhood on the North Shore of Québec City. It is close to several services including the Hospital of St. Francis of Assisi. Le Manoir St-Amand offers its services to autonomous people, with loss of autonomy (semi-autonomous and non-autonomous), as well as people with Alzheimer's and cognitive loss. This private residence for seniors and intermediate resource is a warm and inviting place. It is a modern residence where the well-being of residents is essential. Le Manoir St-Amand is a peaceful place, in the heart of an urban setting. A multidisciplinary team and several volunteers work to meet your needs. You will have fun at this residence of Limoilou! Mon père y a résidé. Ce fut trop court. Le personnel est bienveillant et à l’écoute. Ils ont vraiment à cœur le bien-être de leur clientèle. La famille est toujours la bienvenue. Il y a des activités chaque jour, le menu est très varié et tout est bon ! Nous mangions avec notre père 1 à 2 fois par semaine. La force de ce milieu est la gentillesse, l’investissement personnel et l’écoute du personnel… tous, sans exception !
Questions and answers
Le Manoir Saint-Amand ressemble à de nombreuses autres résidences où le personnel, les activités et les loisirs limités sont insuffisants. L'infirmière doit absolument s'assurer de superviser la distribution des médicaments. Un jour, une préposée d'une agence a donné - par erreur - une triple dose de médicaments à maman qui a été alitée pendant quelques jours. Quand j'ai porté plainte, l'infirmière m'a répondu ce qui suit : "Ça arrive même dans les hôpitaux." Cette réponse témoigne du peu de considération envers nos aînés qui méritent plus de respect.
